In-Situ A206/TiB2 Nano-MMC

Loukus Tech has the capabilities to produce A206 reinforced with in-situ TiB2 nanoparticles. Nano-MMCs containing up to 5 vol % TiB2 show excellent dispersion of reinforcement throughout the matrix grains. Higher vol % TiB2 reinforced A206 can be produced by the introduction of micron-scale TiB2 particles in order to tailor the MMCs properties to specific applications

Tensile Testing 

Loukus Tech’s A206/TiB2 nano-MMCs show significantly higher ductility than unreinforced A206, as well as comparable tensile strength. Heat treatment of the nano-MMC further increases tensile strength with only a slight reduction in ductility over the non-heat treated nano-MMC.
